Project:Hypersensitive
Client: ScreenLab residency
Date: 2000
Hypersensitive is a series of 50 video portraits revealing different
notions of time in relation to the physical body. Subjects were
asked to sit for 2 minutes in front of a Sony DV camera. The footage
from these video portraits was then processed using Max/MSP and
Nato. Tiny imperceptible movements in the subjects' faces were
revealed by applying rapid stuttering and repetition between successive
frames.
Hypersensitive was commissioned by Lumen as part of the Screenlab
Residency Programme at Leeds City Art Gallery. Hypersensitive
exists as a 4 screen video installation and DVD.
